The Portfolio Diet is a plant-forward eating pattern that brings together foods such as oats and barley, beans and soy, nuts, and foods enriched with plant sterols. It also emphasises unsaturated fats in place of foods higher in saturated fat.
You do not need to change everything at once. Try a breakfast with oats, add beans to a lunch you already enjoy, or keep a handful of nuts nearby for a snack. These recipes are ideas to adapt to your tastes and needs.
Research suggests that following the Portfolio pattern can help lower LDL cholesterol. Individual results vary, and food choices are one part of overall cholesterol care.
